STI testing for people most at risk who do not have symptoms – BOOKING APPOINTMENTS ONLINE

We are experiencing some difficulties with our online booking system for higher risk groups. We have suspended this function on our website.

ONLINE STI TESTING

Free postal testing is available in York and North Yorkshire for anyone over 16 with a York or North Yorkshire postal address. Depending on your individual circumstances test kits may be for:

• chlamydia only (swab or urine)
• chlamydia and gonorrhoea (swab or urine)
• HIV and syphilis (finger-prick blood sample)

Not all STIs can be detected through postal testing – for more information please call us on 01904 721111.

 PLEASE use your own name and date of birth on all tests (to avoid confusion) but feel free to use an address of your choice when you request the kit (as long as it is in North Yorkshire or York)

 Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, HIV and Syphilis Testing

Free and Confidential online testing kits are available to be ordered for residents of North Yorkshire and York aged over 16. Please only order a testing kit if you need one and wait to order a kit until it can give you an accurate result – see below:

 

Please be aware you need to wait 2 weeks after unprotected sex to have an accurate chlamydia and gonorrhoea test and 4-6 weeks for HIV and 12 weeks for syphilis. If you have had treatment for chlamydia you need to wait at least 6 weeks before re-testing or you may not get a reliable result.

You will need your own UK mobile number to register to use the service. For your security and confidentiality please don't use someone else's mobile number.​

 

The new portal has features to help you manage your sexual health testing. This will include triage questions to ensure you are tested appropriately and may mean a reduced number of tests offered online
