Routine STI testing is for people who have no symptoms and who have had a new sexual health risk since their last test. Please be aware that It can take up to two weeks for chlamydia and gonorrhoea to show up in a test, four weeks for HIV and twelve weeks for syphilis.
There are four options for routine STI testing subject to age and risk:
Face to face asymptomatic STI testing clinics for ALL ages (these are call HCA clinics)
You will need to attend for a face to face appointment where we can offer STI tests for HIV, syphilis (blood test) chlamydia and gonorrhoea (urine sample or vaginal swab). HCA appointments can be made by contacting our central booking telephone number 01904 721111.

If you are 16-24 years you can order a chlamydia postal testing kit online
- Chlamydia is the most common STI in the UK and often has no symptoms
- If you are under 25 years old it is also advisable to have a routine test for chlamydia once a year.
- Please allow two weeks after a risk before testing for chlamydia – testing too quickly may not detect a new infection.

- Men who have sex with men

- People who have had sex with people from countries where HIV is more common
